TL;DR

  • What it is: GHK-Cu is the most-studied peptide for skin and hair, used both topically (the dominant route) and by subcutaneous injection in community reports.
  • Best for: Skin tone, wrinkles, and hair density
  • Evidence level:limitedTopical GHK-Cu has the strongest support of any peptide on this list - multiple small published cosmetic studies. Injectable use is community-reported only, no human trials.

Why it works

GHK-Cu is a copper-peptide complex with documented effects on skin connective tissue cell collagen production in vitro and in some small clinical studies. Topical and injectable use have different exposure profiles, some users use both simultaneously.

Cautions

Patch-test topical formulations for irritation. Avoid applying topical immediately after exfoliation or microneedling without a clinician's guidance. Copper accumulation is theoretical at community doses but worth monitoring with annual labs.
